The Brooklyn Badminton will have its annual tournament on July 12, 2008 in John Dewey High School of Brooklyn.

As many of you watching the TV news or many other media resources, the pictures of the China 5.12 earthquake are just too much to take. We all want to help so that the people can rebuild their lives soon and to easy their pain. Thus, I would like to dedicate this tournament to the victims of the China 5.12 earthquake and all income from this tournament will go to the Red Cross fun in China.

Second place prize: Linksys VOIP Phone (internet\home phones)

The total value of these prizes is over $3000.00. I greatly appreciate their support to make this charity tournament possible, and hope all participants will enjoy the games of competition, and together we can bring the sport of badminton to more people in our communities.

The format of the tournament

1. Men’s double will have A, B, and C group
2. Mix double will have A and B group
3. Lady’s double will have one group only
4. First round will be decided by one 21 points game only. For the second, third, fourth and or the fifth round will play one 31 points game. Semi final to finals will be decided by three 21 points game.
5. Each player can play only two events.

Time: From 8 AM to 6 PM
   At 8:45 AM, we will start the Men's double, then the mix double and the lady's double. All games will stop at 6:00 PM for the presentation of prize and trophy.

Fees: minimum $20 for non-members and for our regular members, do as you wish to help the victims of the 5.12 earthquake of China.

If any one of you who wish to register your name for the tournament with check, please make your check to UCA -- Earthquake Relief in China Fund. If you want to have a receive for your tax filing purpose, we can do that for you. We will collect all the checks or cash on that day, but you have to register your name on line to me before July 7, 2008.
